Cauliflower Turmeric Rice

Two spices that are a staple in Indian cooking: Turmeric and Cumin.  These two health agents/spices have so many benefits. From anti-inflammatory properties to boosting immunity, these spices will not only add flavor to your dish but also add something you can feel good about.

This Turmeric Cauliflower Rice recipe  is not only easy to digest but delicious as well.  It goes  Great with chicken as a main or topped with grilled tofu. It has just the right amount of flavor and won’t overpower your main.

This cauliflower rice is:

Ingredients
1 small head of cauliflower
1.5 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1 tablespoon of Turmeric
1/4 onion, cut lengthwise
2 bay leaves
1 cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon of salt

Directions

  1.  Remove cauliflower florets and place them into the food processor.  Pulse until they are finally chopped (avoid over pulsing as you do not want the cauliflower to become mush).  Remove from the food processor in place cauliflower in a bowl. Place aside.
  2. Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a deep frying pan on medium. Add cumin seeds and stir them in the oil.  Saute until fragrant. Next add onion and sauté until golden brown. Add turmeric and mix into the oil.
  3. Next, add in the cinnamon stick and the bay leaves followed by cauliflower rice. Stir altogether add salt. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Plate and eat as is, or with a main.

  1. On a whim, I made this. I had to modify it slightly (not done in food processor and only had ground cumin). It smelled great and tasted even better! We had it with roasted (Halal) chicken.
